If you haven’t yet heard about Rocky Point/Puerto Penasco, Mexico, you soon will (whether you read on or just keep your ear to the ground).

Miles and miles of sandy beach, located at the tip of the Sea of Cortez, no hurricanes or tsunamis. A five hour drive from San Diego on the new intercoastal highway, only four from Phoenix or Tucson. Over 50 developments either built or in the works, including a Marriot and the Mayan Resort. Add to that the recent announcement by Holland Amercia and Carnival Cruise Lines to use Rocky Point as a destination port. With a brand new international airport, this place is taking off.
Toss in 340 days a year of sunshine and only two inches of rain, and you’ve got a future so bright you’ll need those shades. If you’d like more information I look forward to hearing from you. Nos vemos pronto.

Villa Granada was begun in 1963 and was finished in 1966 including the Bar and Restaurant. The hotel started with 5 rooms, and the owner continued to add on. In that time there was no architect in Puerto Penasco. The owner brought in an architect from Hermosillo to build the second story. When the restaurant was opened Presidents and Governors would stay at the Hotel. The Villa Granada was the center of Peñasco from 1968 to 1978. Some of many famous artist that stayed at Villa Granada were Rock Hudson, Tom Jones and Steward Granger. The good years of Villa Granada were between 1968 and 1978, when many musical bands, singers, comedians, came to Rocky Point.
